Spring Lookbook
Spring has arrived here in the UK and it feels so good! The arrival of the sun and the blossom always puts such a spring in my step as the days get longer and everyone seems so much happier. I start to plan lots more things and my outfits become more fabulous! We are only on 22nd March as I write this post, so only halfway through Spring, but I've already been to London and to Paris and worn so many good outfits. I would say that Spring and Autumn always seem like the shortest months here in the UK as Winter and Summer feel like they take up 4 months each and then we have a small 2 month window for Spring and then Autumn, which is such a shame as they are my favourite months. They're loafer seasons as I like to call them and no sooner do I take them out the box, I'm putting them back away. My last look book, I explained that I was no longer going to add links as I am shopping my wardrobe more and buying second hand more, so supplying links is getting harder. I also want to encourage you to style my looks using pieces you already have, instead of buying new too!! A final note to say as well, if you don't like the mesh shoe trend, I don't think we can be friends.
LOOK ONE
This was actually a look from last year that I need to wear again, but I loved it so much I had to include it. I think it just looks so chic, I love the pop of the blue, with the cuffs sticking out over the trench coat and the sheer socks with the pointed ballet flats looks so good. This trench coat is vintage Burberry that I got at Portabello market a few years ago and it's one of my favourites items of clothing I own.
LOOK TWO
This was an outfit I wore in London a few weeks ago and it was so comfortable. It's a very simple look, but looks effortless. I love the white t-shirt under the v neck jumper, which actually belongs to my husband, but I've turned it up at the bottom to show the t-shirt sticking out.
LOOK THREE
Welcome to my first Paris look from last weekend. I loved this look because it's feminine, but with an edge by adding the black accessories. I also really love the raffia accessories I've added that add a different dimension and texture. This outfit is a classic example that you don't need to spend a lot on your clothes if you're buying the right pieces and you're buying good basics. My whole look, minus the sunglasses is H&M and M&S.
LOOK FOUR
My second Paris outfit and I just love this one. I love a waistcoat and I love an oversized blazer and these two paired together for a tonal moment with the black accessories, just looks really chic. These Mango mesh ballet flats also just go with absolutely everything, they're so comfortable and they make everything look so much cooler.
LOOK FIVE
My third Paris outfit is super simple, but basically this outfit is all about shape. I'm much more about shape and texture now than I am prints and colours and the shape of these extreme barrel jeans is just exquisite and nothing else over the top is needed, they do all the talking.
LOOK SIX
This was another London outfit from a few weeks ago and I just love these trousers. I bought them around September time last year from Bershka and wore them so much in the middle east and South Asia when I spent 5 weeks there at the end of last year. They're really chic and stylish, but when paired with a simple t-shirt, they are also modest. The crossover waist adds such a cool dimension and shape to the trousers. I also find them so flattering and comfortable.
LOOK SEVEN
This is a very cool look that I wore for a casual Sunday recently and I love the mix of colours and tones. You can see I'm wearing the V-neck jumper again with the white t-shirt underneath as I love it and it looks great with this wash of jeans. I've paired it with this suede jacket with incredible shoulder pads that I got from a charity shop and suede loafers, adding a different colour, texture and shape that elevates the look. The thin sunglasses I've worn just add to the 90s look. I've just finished watching Love story on Disney plus and this feels very Carolyn Bessette.
LOOK EIGHT
My final look is my last Paris outfit from last weekend and again it is so simple. I'm literally just wearing a navy suit with a white t-shirt and black accessories, but it looks so effortlessly cool. The trousers are a barrel shape that I picked up from a charity shop and the blazer is oversized with shoulder pads, which belonged to my Grandma and the shape of them together just elevates a simple suit look.
