Summer this year in the UK has been amazing so far and Summer in the Cities here are my favourite, especially in London. I tend to travel into London super regularly in the Summer, to enjoy weekends there instead of going abroad as it has such European holiday vibes. I then like to do long haul trips during the British Winter months, to get some more sun abroad. When I'm dressing for City summer vibes, I do tend to go more neutral and tailored and when I am abroad I may inject a little more colour, so this is my Summer in the City LookBook I guess. My wardrobe this year has felt really effortlessly chic, I haven't been overthinking it and I've been going for more shapes and texture over prints. I find this way the pieces are more interchangeable together and also don't really date and you can reuse the pieces over and over. I usually do 8 looks, but I couldn't narrow it down so you have a bonus look today! Hardly any new pieces were bought for this Lookbook either, I have been shopping my wardrobe and only buying a few key pieces to add to looks. I will add the links for anything that is current above the images.
1) LOOK 1
This was an outfit that I actually wore last September in LA, but I went on the trip after last years lookbook, so I didn't get to include it and I thought it deserved a mention in this years. Note that it's the only abroad photo in the LookBook and I am wearing a bright colour. I don't know what it is about being abroad that makes me want to wear colour more. Paired with wide leg white linen trousers, this lime green shirt is toned down and makes for a really great Summer look. I also have green earrings on to tie it together.
2) LOOK 2
This was at the start of the Summer so it was still a little bit cooler, but too warm for jeans. I love the tonal look of the navy and I have been really enjoying culottes again this Summer and this Navy pinstripe pair I got from a charity shop in Marylebone. I think they're old Topshop! The contrast of this casual mink coloured tote bag tones down the tailored trousers, making it more casual and then the best part of the look are the fisherman sandals. You either love them or you hate them and I LOVE them, I think they make any outfit look stylish. They were the only new item I bought for this look and they were from H&M.

3) LOOK 3
This look is very simple and definitely one for a heatwave day. The texture and ruching shape of this top, with the high boat neck neckline, gives the look more interest instead of a plain T-shirt and paired with the check shorts makes it on trend. These shorts are super old Zara, but the top is this season from H&M and only cost about £12.
4) LOOK 4
I love this neutral linen heatwave outfit moment and need to wear this again before Summer ends, I felt so good wearing it! I love how effortlessly casual this looks with the shirt untucked and sleeves rolled up and paired with this gorgeous brown woven tote bag. Everything in this look again was old season H&M, but they do linen shorts and shirts every year. The only new piece was the bag, but even that was from Vinted!

5) LOOK 5
This dress I wore in London last weekend in the heatwave and it was amazing. It was so floaty and comfortable, but I felt super chic and nice in it. The black lace almost nightie look has been really in this Summer, and this was my dip into that trend. You could also belt this if you wanted to create some more shape, but for the weather, I chose to wear it like this. This dress was actually new and I had just bought it in the Zara sale for £23 and it is now down to £15.99!!

6) LOOK 6
My next look is more of a tailored look and probably one for 20 to 21 degree weather here in the UK as the trousers are a bit of a heavier fabric. I love a tailored look and I have a lot of waistcoats in my collection. This one from H&M was really affordable and I love how longline it is. I also like the contract of the black and grey here, but you can of course wear it with grey trousers too. Both these pieces are old H&M, but I have seen that they have brought the waistcoat and the trousers back this year.

7) LOOK 7
This look was something that I had in my mind for so long that I wanted to recreate, but I just couldn't find the right pieces. White jeans are so hard to get right and I did eventually find these ones on ASOS and this knitted top I ended up getting on Vinted. I love the light tones of this look together and the different textures of the knit and denim and think it looks really chic. There's something also about this neckline that I love!

8) LOOK 8
This was another London outfit that I wore earlier in this Summer and I felt so comfortable in it, but stylish. The top is the same one as in look 3, but I have paired it with these black culottes, also from H&M. I have been really embracing the oversized and more casual looks and honestly they've been so much more comfortable and I look better. The cherry on top for this outfit is the black mesh shoes that I got from Mango. I LOVE these and again they are marmite and you either love them or hate them, but I love them. They honestly make a plain and casual outfit such as this one look super effortlessly stylish.

9) LOOK 9
My final outfit is a new Nakd fashion dress that I got in the sale and I wore in London last weekend in the heatwave walking around little Venice by Paddington. I felt amazing in it and it was so comfortable and elasticated. The colour is a brownish purple which was so pretty and the shape of the ruching on the top of the dress makes for the most perfect shape and texture.
