April favourites

We finally have that spring feeling and some sun.  It might still be a bit chilly but I definitely have felt like spring is coming this month.  It has got me excited for warmer months and I'm really keen to nail my Spring and summer wardrobe.  I'm still building up all the pieces for my capsule wardrobe so a lot of these items are basics, with a few fun items thrown in there.  If I am going to buy a trend piece, I'm going for a classic item with a twist rather than a full on style piece that will date.  I am certainly not always going to get it right though, but I try my best to buy clothes I think will have longevity in my wardrobe.

What I bought this month:

1) New Look nude heels - I needed some bridesmaid shoes to go with my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding at the end of the month and I thought these were perfect.  They were from New Look can you believe it, but they look very classic and will be in my wardrobe for many years to come.

2) Basic Zara navy tshirt, beige T-shirt snd H&M white, black and striped t-shirts and black tank top - I officially think I am all stocked up on my basic T-shirts in my wardrobe.  It has been a huge trial and error ordering different ones and discovering which ones I like and are good quality.  A lot of white t-shirts have been see through.  I can confirm that the below ones are the best affordable ones I have found.

3) Wide leg H&M trousers - These wide leg trousers turn any boring look into something just a little bit funkier.  I really like styling them with jackets and blazers but equally in summer with a striped t-shirt and a belt it will look very chic and parisian.

4) H&M neutral blazers - I love these and have worn them so much already.  Thrown over plain jeans with  t-shirt is the ultimate lazy but chic look, but equally thrown over tailored trousers they look great.  I really enjoy belting them to elevate their look.  I'm looking forward to wearing them over shorts and t-shirts in the Summer also.

5) Over the ear running head phones -  I am currently training for the London marathon and I never listened to music while running before.  Doing these insane 15 mile plus runs I have needed something to keep me going and these ones are amazing as they hook round your ear and stay on! I highly recommend and they are super affordable too!

6) Vinted stripe linen blazer - I saw someone on tiktok wearing a striped linen blazer over black linen shorts and a tank top and I was desperate to recrate the look.  I ordered the one on the right which was the exact one she was wearing in the video, but it was too big for me even in the smallest size as I am petite.  If you are not then go for it! I found a Zara one on vinted that is very similar and bought that.  Here is an alternative that I have found on Zara if you want to recreate the look also.

7) Nakd two tone jacket - The same influencer as above was also wearing this jacket with straight leg tailored trousers and heeled boots and again, I had to have it!! It's a little bit different and quirky, but it's a twist on a very classic style.  If I had a black hat on and some big pearl earrings, I would feel like Audrey Hepburn.

8) Zara jeans -  I am in desperate need of upgrading my jean collection and I have started with these mum jeans.  I have been styling them this week just with a plain t-shirt and throwing my trench coat over the top with my Veja's.

9) black Vinted sandals - It's a big risk buying shoes on vinted but thankfully this payed off.  These below are a very similar style linked, but I thought these looked like the Valentino rock stud sandals and I really needed some smarter black summer shoes to wear with dresses as I only have tan.

Wishlist:

1) Aquazzura heels or more affordable Zara heels - The most stunning princess heels, I am so in love with the way these Aquazzura heels look on and it would be a dream to own them.  If they are a bit out of your price range then these Zara ones are a great option and also look beautiful on.  They're simple which make them classy but also glamorous.

2) H&M white linen shorts and shirt set - I love the idea of this White linen set with this light beige tank top peeping out the top of the shirt.  I have ordered this and can't wait for it to arrive and see how it looks.  I would wear tan sliders and a basket bag with it to finish off the look.

3) My designer bags wishlist - Both the Dior Bobby and the Serpentine Bvlgari bag are absolute classic to me.  The Dior is very simple and the nod of the Dior oblique strap adds a quirk to the bag while still keeping it very simple and toned back for a casual day look.  The Bvlgari serpentine bag can be dressed up or down.  You can wear it with the strap crossbody in the day or hold it by the handle for an evening look.  I absolutely love the emerald green eyed on that serpentine head.

4) Zara and Coach wedges - I have never really got into wedges for summer but these look great and like a really good alternative for a heel when you want to look more elevated but want to be comfortable for a day look.  These Zara ones look very castaner but a lot more affordable.

5) River Island satin skirt - I have been wanting a neutral satin skirt for ages now that I can pair with either the same tone blazer, a white one or black.  It's a really simple look that looks really chic and elevated.

6) Zara summer outfits  - Zara are absolutely killing it with their looks for Spring/Summer so far this year and I am hear for it! As you know I love a waistcoat and shorts combo and the right 2 dresses give me strong Zimmerman vibes.  I am going to order all of these items and keep you updated on which ones I keep!

7) Penhaligons fragrance  - A penhaligons store has arrived in Cardiff and I am desperate to find my perfect scent as I have heard so much about the brand.  I have been in once so far but not enough to find my scent.  This one was one I really liked though as I enjoy the deeper scents.  They last on your skin for so long and if I am spending a lot of money on a fragrance, it needs to last! My Tom Ford fragrance I can still smell when I wake up the next day, that's when you know a fragrance is good and worth every penny!

8) River Island and H&M wide leg jeans - Forever on the hunt to get wide leg jeans that suit my petite frame! I haven't got there yet but these ones do look good! I like that River Island has a really good petite jeans range!

9) Zara scarf print 2 piece - I love the bohemian vibes in Summer and this 2 piece set looks divine.  I pray that the trousers fit me though as the XS size in these style trousers usually is no XS and tends to be too big around the waist and too long, but I can still appreciate it's beauty.  Zara sort your sizing out!!

10) Massimo dutti coats and jackets - Finally, throwing it back a little to Winter and also keeping it current with spring, here are some coats and jackets that I am absolutely loving in Massimo Dutti.  I have only recently got into the brand and the clothes are such good quality but the price range is not too bad.  It's giving me Celine and Maxa mara vibes but a Reiss price point!
