January favourites

It's a New Year and the wardrobe clear out has already happened.  I will be putting it all on Vinted, but that is a very long process and I usually spread it out otherwise you find you're dropping off parcels to post all week.  I have envisioned my style for the year and got rid of the old, ready for the New.  This year I am channelling classic, clean and tailored looks.  I'm going to start showing you everything I have bought and loved for the previous month and what I have my eye on.  If the items are still available I will link them, if not I'll try and link something similar.  I forever have a huge list of items that I wish I could purchase, not all of them I do unfortunately but I would still like to share them with you all if I can.  Manifestation at its best!

The new pieces in my wardrobe this month that envision how I want to dress like this year are:

1) The grey blazer - I got this in the Zara sale for half price! It looks so great dressed really simply with a plain t-shirt and jeans or styled with leather trousers and heels for dinner.  This a a staple piece in my wardrobe that will last for a very long time.  I just love a good blazer!

2) The tweed shorts - These shorts I also got in the Zara sale!  They look great in winter with a white jumper, black tights and knee high boots.  I wore them the other day with a floor length black coat and it was such a great look! But it equally looks really good with the grey blazer above as a co-ord.

3) The chunky heel black boots - These Dune boots are the perfect boot for every occasion.  The heel is the perfect height to be comfortable to wear all day but also to look really smart.  I often felt too casual in my flat knee high boots when going to work or having a weekend in London.

4) Leather trousers - These Zara leather trousers are such a cool piece in my wardrobe.  Worn with a plain black top, jacket and boots, they look really chic and sleek.  I have already worn these a lot as they can dressed up for evening and dressed down for the day.

Out of stock in this colour but still available in black

5) Long fitted black coat -  I have been on the hunt for a long black coat for ages.  Since my style has evolved and I wear mostly midi dresses and skirts, I needed a coat that would finish at the same length if not longer.  This was the answer to all of my prayers.  I now would like this in Grey and Navy, because of course those are essentials.

6) Black and White block print jumper - I saw this and fell in love immediately!  I was unsure when it arrived if it would suit me, but styled with black leather trousers and black loafers, it looks great!  I can see this being a favourite for a long time!

7) Black watch scarf - I saw Lydia Millen wearing this and fell in love.  She was show casing one she bought from amazon for £69.99, but I was determined to find this for cheaper! I got mine in the December sales from a place called House of tweed, but I also saw loads in the Christmas markets.  It looks great with a black coat/ blazer or just over a black jumper dress and belted with a black belt to elevate the look.

It’s not currently on house of tweed anymore but I’ve found one for a good price here

8) Black lace heels - These look like they are from Jimmy Choo and only cost £65! They look so pretty on and are the most comfortable heel height!

For Christmas I also received some very generous gifts that I am enjoying, here are a few:

1) Sparkly heel and bag set - I was desperate for a sparkly set for Christmas and also to wear with my Asian outfits.  My friend wore this bag to my Hen do and I fell in love! These shoes from Reiss matched it perfectly.  They're the type of shoe that are super classy as well as sparkly, so you can get away with wearing them for occasions not just festive related.  They were pricey but so worth it!!!  In the sale for £95 if you want them at the moment, that's a bargain!  I wore them for a dinner at New years and I can confirm that they are very comfortable.  Very high I must say but very comfortable.

This bag is unfortunately not available anymore but here are a few similar ones

2) Clarins skin set - I never usually have such boujee skin care but I am 30 now and one must start taking proper care of their skin in their 30s!! This was on sale on the John Lewis website when I told my husband about it.

3) Aspinal of London card holder - I was very happy to receive this.  I had been looking at the Prada one and I just kept thinking how much of a waste of money it was for something that is always hidden inside a bag.  This one is very classy looking, exceptional quality and doesn't look far off the Prada one.

On my wishlist:

1) The Chanel style cardigan - These ones below are from H&M, Chicwish and Vita Grace.  I am living in my Chanel era and absolutely loving the simplicity of throwing one of these over jeans and a t-shirt.  It looks so stylish and trendy. If you want items from Vita Grace and H&M you have to be quick as they go so quick!!!

This one from H&M is unfortunately out of stock already but this one is also great from Vita Grace

This Vita Grace cardigan is already out of stock but here is an alternative

This H&M cardigan is already out of stock so here are some alternatives

2) A sleek black midi jumper dress - I am still on the hunt for this, so hard to find the perfect fitting one!!  All the ones I have found at the moment that are affordable have baloon sleeves and I don't want that.  I love the simplistic idea of wearing them with boots and a simple longline coat and scarf.

3) The perfect chunky heel tan boot - I have no picture to add as I am still on the hunt for the dream pair!  Ideally the exact same pair as my black ones above but in a tan.  Dune did happen to have a pair but they were too much of a dark tan and there was a fabric strip which I didn't like.  I'd want all leather as the fabric strip was a different shade to the leather.

4) Black Heels - I'm in my heel zone and I'm in love with this black pair from Reiss.  I was very sad that these had sold out, but they have come back and are now in the sale!!  The shape at the toe is so flattering and the pop of sparkle will elevate any outfit.  Also this red pair from LK Bennett are very beautiful for a pop of colour and also a great deal in the sale.

5)  A black mulberry scarf - I've been after a plain black scarf for a while.  I have a few ones in different check colours and monograms but a black one would go with everything.  This Mulberry one is very understated and I love that.

6) Emerald cut diamond earrings - These earrings are so classy and beautiful! They match my engagement ring also which I love.  Plus for diamonds they are so affordable!!

7) Emerald drop earrings - These earrings look very art deco and interesting.  I have some emerald jewellery with  diamonds  on a silver setting and I always struggle with having earrings as I do 't have any silver earrings.  I'm usually a Gold girl, but these are right up my street and would match my necklace and Bracelet perfectly.

8) Skincare - Elemis warm tonka and vanilla set - This set is expensive for what it is, but I got the Rose scent last year and it's just incredible.  The scent pay off is incredible and I don't even need to wear perfume when I wash with this and then put the body cream on.

9) Belts - Gucci horsebit - I love the Gucci horsebit range not just for the heritage aspect but also that it's a bit more understated in comparison to the usual Gucci logo of the Gucci belts.  This would look wonderful with a neutral jumper dress and wrapped around a mid/maxi neutral cardigan.

10). Anthropology handbag - This woven bag looks stunning and the design is very influenced from Bottega,  This would make any plain outfit look better and I have my eye on it!!  I'm really trying to find some good quality hand bags that aren't just designer handbags over 2k as I don't always want to take an expensive bag abroad or to work. I think this one is already out of stock annoyingly, so I’ve linked the smaller one they sell.
